Todd Eckenrode – Origins Golf Design recently completed the first two holes of restoration/renovation at historic Redlands CC. Holes #1 and #4 were completely renovated this past fall, as the first phase of a four-year planned rejuvenation at this classic course, in part designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie. A number of trees were removed to create space, open vistas, and showcase the 100-year old native California Oaks throughout. Bunkers were renovated in a classic, MacKenzie-inspired styling. Both holes had one side of the green approach opened up to encourage the ground game and playability. Additional this phase of work included restoring the greens to the original larger perimeters, reclaiming exciting lost hole locations along the sides. We are thrilled to be underway on this phased long-term restoration and renovation.
